Call for papers & panels

The AHGBI 69th Annual Conference will be held face-to-face in Birmingham on Monday 25th and Tuesday 26th March, and online on Thursday 28th March 2024. We particularly encourage those who would like to participate online to consider formats such as roundtable discussion and workshops.

All AHGBI members, especially Lusitanists, PGRs and ECAs, are warmly invited to propose the delivery of a paper and/or the organisation of a panel. The AHGBI actively encourages proposals for panels that involve a mixture of career stages, and is keen to encourage within the same panel the participation of retired members of the Association, established scholars in the field, and ECA/PGR speakers. We also welcome other formats, and we encourage members to get in touch with the Conference Secretary with further ideas (please contact Dr Tara Plunkett directly: tara.plunkett@ucd.ie).

Please read the AHGBI CFP 2024 carefully. Papers and panels can be submitted via the links in the left-hand menu.

Deadline: Monday 18th December 2023.

Funding for PGRs and ECAs in temporary/pro-rata contracts to subsidise the costs of attending the conference fee will be available in the form of competitive awards, details of which will be released in early 2024.

Postgraduate Officer, Dr Sophie Stevens. For details please see: PGRs/ECAs in the Association of Hispanists.

If you are not yet a member of the Association and wish to join you should contact the Conference Secretary: Dr Victoria Ríos Castaño: ad1508@coventry.ac.uk. For further information see also: Membership.
